Rev. David Andrade

Fr. David Andrade, born in Quito, Ecuador in 1983. The oldest of four children (three younger sisters, Gabriela, Cristina, and Jennifer). My family emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1989. My family were not active Church goers then and my parent’s marriage was on the verge of collapse. The Charism of the Neo-Catechumenal Way saved my parent’s marriage. The Way also informed my vocation to the priesthood as well as two of my sisters’ calling to the sacrament of marriage. My youngest sister Jennifer lives at home with my parents due to Cerebral Palsy.

I entered seminary on October 8, 2017 at Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Kearny, NJ. I was ordained deacon on May 18, 2025. I served as deacon at St. Columba, Newark, NJ the school year of 2025 – 2026. I graduated from Seton Hall University on May 14, 2026 with a Bachelor’s in Catholic Theology and a Master’s in Catholic Divinity/Pastoral Ministry.

I was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ on May 23, 2026 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica by Archbishop Cardinal Joseph Tobin. I officially began my assignment at St. John the Apostle on June 13, 2026.

I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, exercise in general, reading and spending time with my family.
